On April 3rd, 2021 from 8:30am to 4pm, the student officers volunteered at one of the projects, Geneva Village near Cow Palace, that Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco (non-profit organization) was working on since the start of last year and will be finished at the end of this year! This project is six housing units with three bedrooms, a bathroom, a restroom, a kitchen, a living room, a garage, a laundry room, and a backyard. During the day, we had three choices to choose from on what we would like to work on the entire day. They were painting either the first or second coat on the outside of all 6 units, measuring, cutting, and putting up drywalls, or air sealing and fire tactic on the roof. There will be different tasks to do as they are getting closer to the finishing product. Volunteering is only on Saturdays from 8:30am to 4pm given the dates and you can sign up through this link ( https://habitatgsf.org/volunteer/ ). This is a great opportunity to get a head start on your future/career, learn new things about building a house, or even just giving back to our community. We are interested in volunteering again on this project before it is completed, so if you are deciding to volunteer, but do not want to do this alone, please feel free to contact us on any of our social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Discord, Slack, or our email: sfascesu@gmail.com). We are here for you and to help you succeed your goals in life!
